South Farm Winter Wedding on Croxton Park Estate, Cambridgeshire

BUDGET £50K+

It’s a little early to be kicking off the festive season, but that doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy some festive cheer at this South Farm Winter wedding. It’s littered with hundreds of fairy lights and will dazzle you from start to finish. Bride and groom, Holly and Joshua planned their ‘Jolly’ day with little ones in tow; who almost steals the show playing in the church aisle as they said their I do’s.

WHAT MADE OUR DAY UNIQUE

“We always wanted a Winter Wedding. Thoughts of dusky skies, candlelit banquets and hibiscus cocktails were irresistible…so from that our JOLLY Wedding was born! With the help of my amazing parents, we did a lot ourselves – we wanted to combine our enchanted forest theme with our favourite festivities – without it looking like a grotto! We did everything from sending gold feather tree decorations as our Save the Dates, having mulled wine, mince pies and carols in our service, my mum made my veil (beautiful keepsake) and her infamous Christmas cake for us all. Whilst my dad spent a lot of time wrapped up in hundreds of meters of fairy lights and making a table plan.” – Holly & Joshua

South Farm

Who doesn’t love Christmas? I know I do, and so do Holly and Joshua who perfectly combined their love of the holidays with an enchanted forest theme. The church where they said I do and South Farm where they held their reception was decorated in metres of fairy lights, hanging foliage installations and table runners. Plus, in true Christmas spirit, they enjoyed mulled wine and mince pies. Although their theme was fairly rustic, they kept their attire very glamourous with a velvet dinner jacket and exquisite lace Rine Arodaky wedding dress.

INSPIRATION & STYLING

“The rural 13th-century church we got married in has such a magical and enchanting feel about it, which we wanted to capture that feeling and have it throughout our day. As the church is situated on a private park estate, we wanted our reception venue to feel like a natural extension of it so created our own forest banquet – incorporating a lot of wild elements including our famous gold feathers mixed with festivities like mistletoe, beef wellington and sloe gin. Oh and those fairy lights, hundreds of meters of fairy lights. Whilst our décor was wild, our outfits were more glamourous – velvets and patent for the groomsmen, feathers and sequins for the bridal party.” – Holly & Joshua

Finally, planning a wedding with a baby can feel extremely overwhelming (not to mention exhausting!). However, it’s not only completely doable, but you can also enjoy the process. No really….you can! Holly joined Becky and Charlotte on our podcast to share all her wisdom on planning a wedding with children.
